I recently shared a little about about the personal journey I’ve been on to heal from painful experiences surrounding religion- you can read more about that HERE.
I wanted to heal my relationship with religion because I wanted to find common ground and mutual respect and love with my fellow humans that hold differently spiritual views than me.
I wanted to learn how to be a bridge, and walk in peace and unity with those holding different beliefs.
And of course, the big “push” to do this healing work was when, 5ish years ago, my husband, Matt, felt called back to Christianity, and got re-baptized.
That was honestly a bit of a shock for me, as he was exploring shamanism and more mystical spiritualities before we got married. Needless to say, we had a rocky period with lots of “WTH” moments that I shared about in the last video of this 7 part series (link below).
Since I shared my story, others have said that they’d also like to heal their relationship with religion.
Since Bryan Sirchio, Pastor at McFarland United Church of Christ has been a HUGE help along the way for me, I thought it would be fun to take some of the common questions (and pain points) that I hear from you guys to Bryan, so that you can hear what I believe to be a truer view of Jesus’ teachings.. A view, perhaps, a little (or a lot) different than what so many of us grew up hearing.
Sooo… My hope is that these videos I’ll be sharing over the next several days will open the door for healing that want that. I’ll be adding new videos to this playlist until around June 20, so subscribe to my YouTube channel to make sure you don’t miss any.
