We hope you'll join us for this unique and unifying Winter Solstice Fire Ceremony, where Bryan Sirchio, Pastor of McFarland United Church of Christ, Trish Kalhagen of Sacred Moments and I will weave our spiritual views and practices into this uplifting and healing ceremony.

Several folks have expressed curiosity as to how a Christian pastor and a Shamanic Practitioner have come together to co-create spiritual offerings... Great question!
We wanted to shed a little light on this, hence the video above. Bryan also shared the general viewpoint of the United Church of Christ, as well as some important facts regarding how Christianity has historically interacted with Pagan/pre-Christian/shamanic cultures.
BRING:
Rattle, shaker, or drum if you have one. A bottle with pebbles, dried beans, etc works well too! I’ll have many shakers for you to borrow if you don’t have one of your own.
OPTIONAL: Camping chair if you feel you might need it. We’ll huddle close to stay warm, so standing is great for this one!
OPTIONAL: a pen and journal
IMPORTANT
To respect the sacred container of this work, please refrain from alcohol & recreational drugs the day of the event. It’s ideal, but not necessary to also refrain from both for 24 hours prior, and 24 hours after as well.
This ceremony will be hosted outdoors, and will not be canceled unless there is an EXTREME weather event. Assume that we're "on" unless I post an update in the Facebook event discussion thread the day of the event- see here.
