Learn About Wisconsin's Sacred Sites and Mysteries + Art/Hike/Hangout at the Park

  • Waterloo, Wisconsin United States of America (map)

My intention with these “field trips” is to strengthen our community by bringing people together in a more social way. Everyone is welcome, whether or not you’ve joined us for ceremony or classes previously.

If you’re new to the group, I’d love to meet you, so please come introduce yourself!

Would you like to learn more about local sacred sites? Have you ever wondered what secrets and mysteries southern Wisconsin holds? Are you interested in local lore, legends and myths?

Ben Reigel of the Waterloo Historical Society has much to share with us regarding the pyramids in Rock Lake (Lake Mills, WI), the mysterious 9 foot skeletons unearthed locally (as well as across the country), secret societies, the history of local Spiritualism groups, and more.

DETAILS:

  • Waterloo Historical Society Museum, 130 E Polk St, Waterloo, WI. It’s an old church building. Park in the grass- there’s no parking lot.

  • 5-8pm-ish

  • Sliding scale for tour of $5-$25: all proceeds go to the Waterloo Historical Museum. Please register for Ben’s talk, since space is limited.

  • If you need to come late or leave early, I think that should be fine.

How This Field Trip Came To Be

This is definitely out of the norm in terms of my offerings, but I love a good mystery, so I thought you might too.

To be honest, it was the mention of the giant skeletons that hooked me! I immediately thought of the Star People, and the underground museum I visited in Peru with highly unusual skeletons and mummies. I remember my fascination with the stories our guide shared about the remains. Any connections here? I have no idea, but again, who doesn’t love a great story?

3:30pm: Pre-Talk Hangout At The Garman Nature Preserve

No registration needed for this part- just come

If you’re able, join us before Ben’s talk at the John S. Garman Nature Preserve, a beautifully peaceful “46 acres of woodland, walking trails, and sacred Native American burial mounds”, we’d love to have you.

I’ll be bringing an art project to work on from 3:30-4:30 so I can hold down the fort on the lawn near the parking lot for those wishing to visit, but not hike.

Feel free to bring your own art project, oracle cards, or hike, etc.

I want to give a HUGE thank you to Maria Henry, founder and product alchemist of Luminous Rose for connecting Ben and I. Maria told my about Ben’s giant skeleton stories, and of course, I had to know more!
