What is the purpose of a shamanic fire ceremony?
The fire is a cleansing, transformational and powerful tool. When we work with intention, the fire helps us to change and shift our lives in the ways we desire. Fire ceremonies have remained a core practice amongst many traditional cultures for tens of thousands of years.
Bring your intentions for the manifestation of new emotions, patterns, relationships, work, deeper self discovery, etc as well as intentions for what you’re ready to release.
How should I prepare for this ceremony?
1) If you’ve not attended one of my fire ceremonies before or you need a refresher, its important that you watch this video to make sure you’re ready to dive right in once you arrive. Since many participants have attended several of my fires, I no longer offer this intro during these events.
While I talk specifically about New Moon & Full Moon Fire Ceremonies in the video, this particular fire ceremony is not in sync with the moon phase this time. It will still be a powerful ceremony though, I promise!
2) You may wish to do some journaling or reflecting about your intention(s) prior to arriving.

Format of the evening
We’ll briefly introduce ourselves, and you’ll have a chance to share what has brought you to this ceremony. Perhaps it’s an interest in fire ceremonies, shamanism, connecting with like-minded individuals, etc.
We will begin the ceremony.
Once the ceremony is complete, you’ll have some time to journal if you like, and share about your experience, if you wish to do so. (We will NOT break into smaller groups for sharing like we do with journeying circles)
Upon completion of the ceremony, you are free to stay and socialize if you like!
What will the ceremony be like?
This ceremony is a shamanic ceremony practiced by the Q’ero shamans of Peru, and has been handed down to me as part of my training in this lineage. We will connect with the power of the fire by singing a beautiful, yet simple chant. Remember that everyone is focused on doing their personal work, and no one is listening to you sing- so don’t be shy or deterred!
The ceremony is simple, and I will discreetly remind the group of the steps as we move through it. There is no need to worry about remembering a complicated sequence or “messing up”.
Bring
A rattle or drum if you have one
A pen and journal
A camping chair
If it could rain, you may want to bring rain gear. If it’s a light rain, we’ll do the ceremony, but we won’t in the event of lightning or heavy rain.
OPTIONAL: A headlamp or flashlight may be very helpful
OPTIONAL: bug repellent
OPTIONAL: beverage or snack
OPTIONAL: Item(s) that represent anything you wish to welcome into your life
RSVP
Please RSVP to jessica.riphenburg@gmail.com. Since this event will be hosted at a private residence, participants must either know myself or an attendee of my events. If we don’t have a mutual friend, the best way for us to connect would be for you to book a session with me.
While this method is NOT my preference, until I find a public place to host these events that is free or extremely affordable, this is my only option. I simply cannot open someone’s home (for restroom purposes) to people I don’t know.
I offer these events free of charge, and I am just starting to say “donations appreciated”. If donations received can support venue rental, I can open these events to the public.
As always, my intention is to..
Grow and nurture this community. To create a space where new friendships can be made, where we can skip the small talk, and connect soul-to-soul with like-minded humans.
This isn't the place for talking a lot about your business, networking, or for finding clients, BUT, everyone will get the chance to say a couple sentences about what they do at introductions if they like. Feel free to have flyers or business cards on hand if someone wants to connect later. And rest assured that our helping spirits will facilitate any business convos that are meant to happen outside of this gathering.
Lastly..
Please do not consume alcohol or recreational drugs the day of the ceremony. It is advised, but not required to refrain from both for 24 hours prior to, and 24 hours after the ceremony.
