Whether shamanic things pique your curiosity, or you're deeply steeped in a shamanic practice, this event is for you!
DID YOU KNOW?
People around the world have gathered for thousands of years to socialize and celebrate during the harvest season.
Celebrations were not confined to one day. However, in some parts, the celebratory season of harvest got out of hand with excessive drinking and rowdiness, and important tasks such as gathering and preserving perishables got sloppy, so the big celebration was moved to the very end of the season to assure the work got done properly, and people had the provisions they needed to get through the winter.
INTENTION FOR THIS EVENT
Some of us felt that while we'd met many awesome people through this year's fire ceremonies, time often zipped by SO fast in those circles that we hadn't gotten the chance to connect socially as much as we'd like.
My hope is that this space will allow us to simply hang out, deepen current friendships, and forge new ones. Of course all are welcome, whether or not you've attended a previous event.
IMPORTANT DETAILS
Lori Frison will lead us in a beautiful despacho ceremony at 1:30pm, so come for that if you'd like! It's FREE.
We'll switch gears into socializing around the fire about around 2/2:15pm.
The gathering is "on" as long as it's NOT RAINING.
A swing set & play structure are right by the shelter. I'll bring some yard games- feel free to do the same.
There’s plenty of beautiful walking trails at the park, and the bike path runs through the park too, so make a day of it!
Space at all Dane County Parks are non-reservable due to the season, but I’m assuming we’ll have access to the fire ring near at shelter #1. If that’s full (unlikely), we’ll grab a spot in the nearby green space. In that case, I’ll put a tent sign near shelter #1 directing you to our new spot.
WHERE
William G. Lunney Lake Farm County Park, Shelter #1. It’s right by the observation tower, and just past the group camp entrance when you’re driving towards the lake. See this map
