International Overdose Awareness Day

  • Olbrich Park 3527 Atwood Avenue Madison, WI, 53714 United States (map)

I am honored to play a tiny role in the Healing Circles at International Overdose Awareness Day, hosted by Safe Communities of Madison and Dane County, where I will guide a healing meditation at 5pm.

The Healing Circles, created and led by ARC Community Services' Rebecka Crandall (Spiritual Programming Coordinator) and Skye Boughman (Clinical Supervisor), are designed to foster safe spaces for friends, family members, and providers that have been impacted by overdose to express their grief and begin learning new ways to create a legacy for their loved ones.

DID YOU KNOW?

Overdose tragedies are affecting families and students of ALL walks of life. It's the leading cause of death for Americans 18-45.

A huge contributor to this is the extremely deadly synthetic opioid fentanyl, which is used to create and/or lace both prescription and street drugs.

If you can please watch and share this video of two local moms sharing the stories of their sons, Logan and Cade, who lost their lives to fentanyl poisoning while attending UW Milwaukee. The boys unknowingly took what they thought to be prescription pills.

Michelle Kullman (Cade's mom), has made it her life mission to bring awareness and change to the fentanyl epidemic.
